Genetics

It's been an amazing month (January 2018). We had five lambs born. The first one was a white male. The second one was a white male. The third one was a white male. Guess what the 4th and 5th one turned out to be? Yep, white males!

The first 2 moms were mostly white, and our ram is white, so we thought nothing of it at first. Then our brown sheep popped out her white baby. And THEN... our (mostly) black sheep produced a white lamb! That's when we started wondering about genetics. It's amazing. The last January lamb has his mom's head shape and sound (baa), but otherwise he looks like his dad.
